It has come to my attention that I may have discovered another source of art theft, but I'm going to need to enlist the help of others to figure out just how far this rabbit hole goes.

The game in question is Elven Blood. It's one of a series of four games, the others being Blood Lust, Skies of Blood, and City of Blood. The series does have several thousand players on Facebook AND now on Myspace.

I've played most of the game assuming that they'd acquired permission for the usage of the images there, until midway through, I started noticing that only some (less than 5 from when I started noticing) images had credits listed under them. I contacted one DA member who lacked credits and found out that permission wasn't even asked of him. The percentage of images I've seen that are credited are less than 5% (I'm nearly at the end of the game).

So now I'm on a quest to find out who else wasn't asked and who was, but may have declined a listed credit.

Were this an individual doing this, I wouldn't be as concerned, but this is the work of an independent game developer with four online games using the work of our peers without even a nod to them for their efforts.

All I am doing is:
-contacting the artist in question to find out if they had submitted work to the game

-mentioning that some images are credited while many in the game are not

-If they did not submit anything and wish to pursue the case, all I've done is provide them with contact info and a screen shot of the location in the game where their image is used.

-For screen shots, please refer to the link I've posted below if you're going to be sending the shot to me to work with.

If you don't want to contact the artist but recognize someone's work:

-please comment to this journal with the location, quest title and a link to the original artwork.

-If you can provide a screenshot of the location in the game, that would be most excellent, particularly with the first 3/4 of the locations as I am in the last quarter. The map at the last link, has some simulations of the locations, so you can just send me the link for that location. A screenshot is preferred though. I've just been uploading mine to flickr for now.
